EXPLANATION from the on-duty sl. plumber Vladimir Mikhailovich Pereverzev, who lives in Lodeynoye Pole.
Being on watch on May 15 this year, around 2 a.m., I saw a glowing ball in the sky, which is heading from east to west, at an altitude of about 3-5 km. The ball glowed brightly, leaving behind several bright barrel-shaped stripes (as shown in the figure). The balloon was flying at about the speed of a jet plane and, as it seemed to me, was descending directly on the DCO. This procedure lasted about 5 minutes. After that, the balloon made 2-3 small circles, turned around and went in a north-easterly direction, gaining altitude and increasing speed, disappeared without leaving any traces behind. When the balloon was descending and making circles, it left behind a brightly glowing strip, as if illuminated from below by a searchlight. The horizon in this area was illuminated for a long time, and the farthest bands were painted in a dirty color.

For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
