Initial data
Kalachansky I. writes to the Commission on the:
In 1966, on May 11, my wife, daughter and I observed an interesting phenomenon in Ulan-Ude.
To the west of the constellation of the Charioteer, approximately at 22-20, a point appeared, bright as Venus, moving to the east. Soon 3 beams were leveled from it.
After a few minutes, the picture changed (see Figure 2).
The rays seemed to break away from the glowing formation. At that moment, they broke away from the glowing formation. At the moment when this happened, to the west of the constellation of the Charioteer, a bright second formation appeared at a distance of approximately 3-4 magnitudes of its diameter, moving in the same direction, and which seemed to intercept the rays from the first and released its own, but in the direction of the Earth.
Soon, in less than a minute, these rays disappeared, and formation No. 1 ceased to be visible, and "2 began to swell so that the entire constellation of the Charioteer was closed, but it became transparent, consisting of Newton's rings and stars were visible through it.
By 23 o'clock. the whole phenomenon turned into a faint light spot and seemed to disappear in the northeast. And after that, a light strip appeared over the forest, as if the lights of a big city were lit there, and it disappeared a minute later.
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks
For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
