Initial data
Kaltimov Ermolai Nikitich writes to the Commission on:
On April 27, 1979, at 20-17 Moscow time, in the village of Malaya Purga, Udmurt ASSR, from the northwest, 25 degrees above the horizon, some kind of smoke jet with a glowing head, like the trail of a jet plane.
This trace of an elongated luminous point moved to a height of 35-40 degrees and then went east not in such a shape, but often with directed luminous lines as shown in the figure.
As this object continued to move eastward, its rays and the luminous object began to slowly disappear and no longer became visible.
This phenomenon occurred only 6-7 minutes from the beginning of its appearance to the end of its visibility.
When this object disappeared from the field of view, its initial trace from the west turned a very beautiful yellow-red shade for 19-13 minutes and then disappeared too.
This picture occurred with a slight cloud cover.
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks
For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
Events
Rocket launches (from space.skyrocket.de)
- Site: Plesetsk (NIIP-53, GIK-1, GNIIP) (USSR / Russia) Vehicle: Soyuz-U Payload: Kosmos 1097 (Yantar-4K1 #1, Oktan #1)
