Initial data
Alexander Georgievich Sorokin's report on the observation of an unusual glow in the atmosphere.
In 1979, in June or July, I do not remember the date and month exactly, on a weekday at 22-23 local time, I, while at my dacha in the Tashkent region, Vastandykinsky district, the village of Kyzyl-Su, observed a strange glow. The weather was clear and calm, there was no wind, there was no moon, the sun had set, the stars were visible.
I was in the yard. In the direction to the northwest, almost to the west, I saw a luminous dome (semicircle) the color of an electric lamp (bright yellow), homogeneous, with perfectly clear boundaries. The glow was an angle with a horizon angle of about 25-30 degrees.
The glow angle is about 30 degrees, from the lower side the glow touched the contours of the mountains. The visual range to the glow is about 15 km (I know the distance to the top). the glow was immaterial.
for about 5 minutes, the glow expanded and increased in size. at the same time, it dimmed, and at the bottom faster, the contours remained extremely clear. At some point it disappeared, stars were visible at the place of the glow, as well as in other parts of the sky.
The total time was about 5 minutes.
There were no extraneous sounds, smells, or sensations.
I didn't know about the NETWORK problem before the observation.
I observed exactly the same thing in the same place and at the same time a year later, in 1980.
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks
For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
