A vampire. Serbia

The first written mention of a vampire appeared in the 98th issue of the Austrian magazine "Vossiche Zeitung" in 1725.

The article wrote that a certain Petar Blagojevich died in the village of Kiselevo, located on the territory of present-day Serbia, and previously belonged to Austria. And within 24 hours after that, 10 more people died. Upon arrival, the medical commission from Vienna found that Blagojevich was lying in a coffin alive with traces of blood on his lips.

"When the coffin was opened, it was found that the body of the deceased was in a state as if death had occurred a few hours ago, and not more than 10 weeks. After being pierced with an aspen stake, blood gushed out of his body, nose and ears. The body was burned by local residents, after which the mysterious deaths stopped," sources at the time reported.
