From a letter from Olga Filimoshkina (Olesya) Borisovna (The letter was sent on 04/29/19):
.. I came across another person who was watching a UFO. This is a friend of mine who works as a flight attendant at a French airport.
I tried to ask her in more detail, asked her to write everything and even draw it, but I don't know what happened. In general, so:
"It was at the end of October (probably 1978), I don't remember the date exactly. We flew flight 4706 from Frunze to Kiev with a landing at Rostov-on-Don airport. Before the plane descended to Rostov-on-Don airport), somewhere around (2 a.m.), a call suddenly rang from the crew. According to the SPU system, the pilots called us into the cockpit. It was felt that they were extremely surprised by something. We quickly went into the cockpit and were literally stunned: in front of the nose of the aircraft there was a glowing disk of very large size (about thirty meters in diameter). Why "disk"? It resembled the shape of a throwing sports disc. Its edges were indistinct, but not wavy, smooth. The color is bright orange, reminiscent of the sun at sunset. It seemed that it covered the entire settlement (or the airport, or Rostov). There were no rays coming from the disk, although it gave the impression that this point was as if illuminated from it. When the airport dispatcher asked what kind of phenomenon it was, the connection was interrupted for about 1 minute, and when it resumed, it appeared in mid-sentence. The airport replied that they couldn't see anything.
During the observation, the disk descended very slowly, but suddenly rose quickly, almost instantly, and it seemed that light appeared from the bottom of it, narrowing to the bottom.
It seemed that the disk had gone along the trajectory behind the plane. There were no sounds at the same time. Besides us, this phenomenon was observed by several other crews whose planes were in the airport area.
They didn't tell anyone about it, although they tried at the beginning. The reaction of the audience was the same: laughter and unequivocal twirling of a finger at the temple."
I promised to clarify some details with the crew.

For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
