A similar "phenomenon" described by you in the newspaper "Trud" dated January 30, I985 in the article "Exactly at 4.10 ..." We observed on April 23, 1982, from 1:25 a.m. to 3:30 a.m.

At 1:25 a.m., we accidentally noticed a luminous flat "circle" (about 10 meters in diameter) hovering in the sky almost directly above us at an altitude of about 100 meters or more. A few seconds later, a straight beam of light fell from it on the ground next to us. It was as bright as day in the beam itself and on the ground illuminated by it.

It is characteristic that there was no light scattering at the boundary of the beam (there was a sharp boundary: day - night).

The diameter of the illuminated earth was 10 (it says "10-15", but the number 15 is crossed out) meters. (As we determined the next day, the damage to the ground cover was not visible to the eye). The beam didn't move anywhere. After 20-30 seconds, it disappeared, but the glowing flat "circle" remained.

After (the sign "approximately") 1 minute, the border of the "circle", which had been clear before, began to blur, shrouding itself in a kind of fog. And everything disappeared.

People walking along a perpendicular street did not see the beam or did not pay attention to it (we do not know). But it is impossible not to pay attention to such a bright ray.

When the blinding ray of light and the circle disappeared, in the night sky, we noticed a pronounced blue "spot" located not in the place where the circle was, but to the side and at a higher altitude. (moreover, the height was a kilometer, two or more - we do not know, since this value is difficult to determine by eye.) By this time, we had already recovered from the shock and began to observe the glowing "spot". The spot resembled the shape of a comma. (Fig. 1) 

After 15 minutes, it began to change color. It turned from blue to green-blue, and retained this color for about five minutes. After another 5 minutes, the "spot" changed. From a pronounced comma, it turned into a circle with indistinctly defined borders. At the same time, the color also changed - it became greenish.

Then the circle was cut into two halves by a line (Fig. 2 ). After a while, the outlines changed again. The "spot"-the circle became elliptical and retained this shape and green color to the end. (Fig. 3) It was felt that all these were three-dimensional figures and their size was much larger than the size of a "luminous flat" circle."

At 2 hours 0-20 minutes, "this luminous greenish volumetric ellipse" began to move jerkily across the sky at high speed, and its shape did not change during movement and there was no tail like a comet. It really looked like a flying object.

At 3:30 a.m., he began to move at high speed, went up and disappeared from view.

It was characteristic that the sky was clear: night, bright stars and not a cloud, the moon shone from behind. And the "ellipse spot" was in front of us, flying over us, then hovering. And there was no wind.

After your article in the press, we met with a lot of refutations: what is it BUT or a physical phenomenon. Let's not hide it: "we were waiting for a report in the newspaper that it was seen from the Pulkovo Observatory" - but this message did not happen.

For a physical phenomenon, a luminous spot would still be suitable, but how to explain the appearance of a circle with a diameter of 10 m and a ray falling on the earth and illuminating it.

pS: We were surprised by what we saw. And we recorded all this on paper the next day. We have the original, written three years ago. In addition, in the same year we told a number of people about this, who after the appearance of your article (three years later) began to question us again and now have no doubt that we told them the truth.
