Initial data
Ozolins O.A. writes to the Commission on:
Responding to the publication in the newspaper "Trud" No24 of this year, I can describe three similar observations, exactly what I have imprinted in my memory.

2. On December 5, 1960, 22-35 northwest of Valmiera, Latvian The SSR observed an upward "shooting" star.
At that time, I was already "sick" of satellites and conducted systematic observations. And that evening, taking advantage of the day off, I also learned to distinguish different constellations.
Suddenly I noticed a "star" that was moving upwards, at about an angle of 45 degrees, and seemed to be heading straight for the North Star. In the wake of this object, a round spot appeared, sparkling with green light. The "star" disappeared into outer space, and the green light spot was visible for another 20 minutes.
I took the binoculars and saw the second one in the path of the flying object, further from the first bright spot. It was impossible to observe him without binoculars. About 15 minutes after the appearance of the green circle, I heard a distant muffled sound, like someone touched a double bass string.
In 15 minutes, the sound will fly by, about 45 km. That could be the distance to the green spot. It seemed that a round piece of green glass was hanging in the sky.

Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks
For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
