Yu.P. Ermolenko writes to the AIA Commission:
G. Ordzhonikidze FROM the ASSR, 1957, autumn, eclipse of the sun.
As a 3rd year student at the North Caucasus Mining and Metallurgical Institute, I lived in a private apartment near the institute.
On this day, during the eclipse of the sun, I went to the institute and, not reaching 15 meters to the gate in front of the institute, I saw a small tornado rise on the ground, I clearly heard the ringing of flying cans and the frightened barking of dogs.
Looking at the sun, I saw a large object flying and sparkling in the sky.
I felt sick at night, as the hostess told me later, I got up in bed and screamed and cried. In the morning, I went to class as usual. After a while, I felt severe headaches, lost sleep and began to lose weight catastrophically. At the insistence of my father and with the permission of the dean, I went to Kislovodsk and a council of neuropathologists led by Professor Brook I. Ya. they stated that I had inflammation of the soft membrane of the cerebral cortex and offered to go to the hospital immediately.
