CERTIFICATE OF Fomin Yuri Alexandrovich, engineer, year of birth - 1941, higher education
On the night of May 14-15, 1981 My company and I were in the Priozersk district, on the southern shore of Lake Otradnoye. At about 01:30 a.m., a white spot appeared in the northern part of the sky, which exceeded the characteristics of the stars in size and brightness. This spot flew from north to south at an angle of about 30° to the horizon, silently and directly at us, everything increased in size.
A well-defined halo with an elongated tail (cone) was visible around the spot. All this was approaching the ground, but suddenly stopped. The halo began to increase, reaching almost 5 diameters of the Moon. Then the halo began to blur and fade, and the spot began to move away to the northwest. It moved evenly along the horizon at about an angle of 45° and disappeared behind the hills.
The size of the spot did not change during the movement. After it disappeared over the horizon, the western part of the cloud (the formation from the tail) glowed bright orange. The glow lasted for about 10 minutes. This occurred approximately 15 degrees from the spot's stopping point.
The sky was cloudless during the observation. The moon was visible in the southern part of the sky.
We photographed what we observed. However, due to the low sensitivity of the film and the "usual" manifestation, the negatives did not work.
I saw a similar phenomenon for the first time and took it for an unknown optical phenomenon or for UFOs, since I knew a little about them from newspapers and magazines.
They watched with me:
1) Krylov S.G., year of birth 1932, higher education, engineer.
2) Lev Ivanovich Evstigneev, born in 1935, higher education, engineer.
3) V.G. Prusakov, born in 1940, higher education, engineer.
4) Yeremenko Yu.V., year of birth I949, higher education
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks
For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
