An eyewitness to another case in 1976 over Leningrad was my wife, when she and other witnesses saw the landing of an object in a vacant lot (Armored). It was a cigar-shaped reddish object glowing brightly. There was no plume or smoke visible.
I asked lecturer Baranov about this observation in the lecture hall, but he stated that so far this phenomenon is inexplicable. There was a note in the newspaper about this that it might have been a car.
