Yesterday, i.e. on 11.10.77, our crew on TU-134 A No. 65057 performed flight 18088 with passengers on board, en route Tashkent-Chelyabinsk-Kuibyshev-Vilnius. At 18 o'clock. 20 min. when flying over the city of Kostanay at an altitude of H = 10,000 m, I noticed a luminous object ahead, gradually increasing in size, up to about the flight course, slightly higher, to the left, and at first the crew and I thought it was the moon rising. I switched to the minimum red light of the cockpit lighting and continued to observe this phenomenon with the crew.

It turned out that it was not the Moon, but a moving, highly luminous object in the shape of a disk, moving forward and upward at an angle of about 60-70°, in our direction. It emitted a strong glow (like a very powerful searchlight), and the object itself was moving away, leaving behind a large, elongated, luminous cloud, which we observed for 7-8 minutes, then this cloud was left behind, slightly to the left, and we flew towards Chelyabinsk.

At the Chelyabinsk airport, I asked about the restrictions to the highway, there were no restrictions, i.e. there was no launch of the ISS. It is very interesting to know what this phenomenon is and how to explain it.
