I was walking from home to my daughter. It is a 40-45 minute walk away. Halfway there, I suddenly heard a dull explosion and noticed that it was heard from above.

I looked up and saw a small red glow high in the sky, almost at the zenith, about the size of an electric light bulb, but if it is at a great distance from you.

This bright spot was rapidly approaching from somewhere at a very high distance, towards the Earth.

I began to think that it was a jet plane, but why is its spotlight visible at such a great distance? Usually, low-flying aircraft have colored light bulbs on their wings. This bright "something" was approaching the Ground very quickly and was growing in volume. It became like a full moon, only not pale in color, but brighter. The "moon" began to grow in size, and I thought: "What is it? Are we approaching the moon or is the moon flying towards the Earth?" In any case, it was obvious that it was not the flames from a burning plane.

Suddenly, in place of this bright disk, an "explosion" would have formed, but there was no sound, and a cloud of thick vapor formed in the form of a large mushroom. The tail went down from its lower middle part. It looked like an atomic bomb explosion, which is what I thought. but I stood and looked at all this with great interest and bewilderment. If, I think, it is atomic, then at a high altitude, and this did not even affect the air fluctuations. It was very quiet. And if that's for sure, then there's no escape.

Now I can't remember at what time a huge bright "circle-ball" was formed in a diameter of about 3 m and began to grow from the middle of it in all directions across the sky.

After a few minutes, the middle became empty, and the ring formed from this ball began to spread across the sky in the form of a round rainbow with a purple hue and went flat above the Ground to the horizon. over the Sovetsky and Kirovsky districts it was wider, and the radius to the city was smaller and it turned out in the form of the number 8, which only lay flat above the ground.

The "cloud" itself was light, and its base "flag-leg" began to change from light to blue-green (the color of the sea wave), but much more transparent, as if glowing transparent light.

I looked at everything that was happening in the sky for a few minutes, until it all blurred and went to the horizon. And at this time, the tail from the "cloud" remained in the same place for a long time. It was as if he had frozen in the frosty air without changing color or shape.

Almost imperceptibly, it began to move away to the western part of the sky.

I came to my daughter about 25-30 minutes later and showed this luminous blue image in the sky to her and my son-in-law, since it was still clearly visible from their house. At the moment of my observation of what was happening, I turned to the men passing by me, pointing up, asking: "What is it?" None of them could figure out what it was.
