Observation of a strangely shaped object on 11.09.80
At 7:55 a.m., from the territory of the Tula Arms Factory in the direction of the northwest, employees of the chief designer's department observed an object in the morning sun at an altitude of 6-7 km, which at a glance looked like a crescent moon, but with one bright spot.
For the convenience of observing the object, an optical six-fold sight from a hunting rifle was used. By 8.30 a.m. A cone appeared at the object from the bright spot. It can be assumed that this elongation of the bright spot with the formation of a cone is caused by the reversal of the object. But there was a blue sky between the cone and the base of the object with no apparent connection between these two elements.
By 8:45 a.m. the object was not visible, clouds appeared.
Three days later, it became clear that in Tula, a lot of residents saw the object and since it was working time, many collectively observed and exchanged impressions about the nature of the phenomenon, naturally not having a common opinion about the object.

Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
