Initial data
December 27, 1980
MS Red Hill. The observers are A.S. Shugalova (head of the MS), E.A. Belyaeva (junior technician).
At 7-25 a.m., in an almost cloudless sky, with the bright light of the Moon, a luminous object in the form of a bright star suddenly appeared to the south of the MS. A vaporous cloud was moving away from it to the ground, and in the lower part of this cloud there was a bright green spot shaped like a pear.
At 7.35 the star disappeared, then the cloud disappeared, and the green spot, having taken a clearer image and increased its size by about 2 times, began to approach the earth, not quickly, the movement was not noticeable to the eye.
The dimensions no longer increased, but the brightness did not weaken. Before reaching the ground at 3-5 °, the spot began to blur and disappeared completely at 8-05.
At 8-25, radiation was measured using the DP-5 device: radioactivity was not increased.
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks
For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
