Initial data
City of Arkhangelsk
Sunday, November 16, 1980. Frosty morning - 16, clear moonless starry sky. The horizon is covered with black clouds along the entire azimuth, about 7-10 °. About 7 o'clock. 23 min. I got off the bus with a fellow traveler on Uritsky Street and walked about 50 m. Suddenly it was as bright as the moon.
We turned back and saw a huge fireball fly out from behind the roof of the Dvinsky Dawns restaurant parallel to the railway bridge.
This ball glowed with the light of arc welding, like a cold incandescent fluorescent light bulb. The diameter of this ball was larger than the diameter of the Moon by about 2 times as seen from earth. There was a swirl of air in front of the fireball, and it resembled one part of an ellipse in shape, and the ball itself was the center of the ellipse. The air in front of the balloon was tearing off at great speed and a very wide plume of smoke remained behind, like from a jet plane. Below this ball and behind it, 4 large stars flew at the same speed, arranged in a large horizontal diamond.
These 4 stars blinked symmetrically and oppositely with a period of about 1 second. Suddenly, this ball turned away from us at a right angle and bright rays of the same color as the ball became visible, there were seven of them. But these were not searchlight beams, because when the spotlight is turned off, the rays disappear completely.
A few seconds after the turn, the action of the rays stopped, but the rays did not disappear, but moved away from the steam. Then the rays turned on again after a few seconds and began to grow, and the dark gap moved away from the ball. Then the rays were fully restored.
Shortly after the turn, the four stars that were flying behind the ball left
In the air, three yellow stripes under a very small angle to the horizon disappeared, and the ball continued to move away and disappeared behind the roofs of houses.
I looked at my watch -it was 7-25. From another stop, it was better to see the trail left, and judging by the trail, this ball made 4 turns at right angles.
A relatively thin trail remained until turn 3. After the 3rd turn, the trail was very wide. The Shra flew approximately over the village of Lyavlya, 30 km from Arkhangelsk and at an altitude of about 15 km (approximately because it did not measure anything, only by eye). The sun rose that day at 08.20 The balloon flew fast, silently, many saw it.

Booster, the rocket and tracks

For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
