Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences R. Furduy from Kiev tells how, while in the tent camp of the participants of the XV International Congress on the Geology of Carboniferous Deposits on the banks of the Zilim River (Southern Urals), he and his colleagues (about 30 people in total) in the late evening of September 6, I1975, an amazing phenomenon was observed:
"In the northwestern sector of the sky, 40 degrees from the zenith, a bluish-white fiery "bubble" shone against the background of the stars. Its angular dimensions were approximately equal to the size of the full moon.
The "bubble" was rapidly increasing in size, as if swelling and inflating. In shape, it was close to a hemisphere, with an upward bulge, with a rather uneven wavy lower section.
The light of this hemisphere most resembled the bluish-white surface of a glowing lamp
daylight, but it was much weaker. In complete silence (only the crackling of wood in the fire could be heard) we looked at this "bubble", which continued to grow rapidly: its angular dimensions soon amounted to about 20 degrees. This spectacle lasted about two minutes.
The "bubble" disappeared instantly - went out, as if someone had turned off an invisible switch at once.
Later it became known to me that such or a very similar phenomenon was observed in the city of Ufa on the same evening and at about the same time, i.e. 85 km to the northwest. For Ufa residents, the "bubble" hung high above the horizon in the southeastern part of the sky."
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks
For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
