Initial data
G.A. Chistyakov writes to the Commission on AI.:\
On June 14, 1980, my wife and I were at a cottage near Moscow in the area of Mikhnevo station (Paveletskaya railway) We decided to take a walk before going to bed.
At 23-57 we saw a strong flash on the horizon, which began to spread upwards. then we saw a silvery object moving parallel to the horizon at an altitude of about 500 m, from the observation point. when the object moved, a halo was formed, which increased in size as it moved away. The halo resembled the shape of a huge whale. Its outlines glowed white, pale pink to pale blue. the direction of movement is northwest to southeast. the object was observed for 3 minutes. Then he disappeared behind the tall trees, and when he reappeared, the halo was gone.
The object changed direction and disappeared into the night. At that moment it was 24 o'clock, the chimes were striking.
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks
For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
