Initial data
Mechanical engineer Yelizarov Sergey Alexandrovich observed an unusual phenomenon near Pereslavl-Zalesky, Vladimir region, in the area of Pleshcheyev Lake on June 14, 1980.
His story follows.
At about 23:55 Moscow time, being at the source of the river on the north side of Lake Pleshcheyev, I observed a brightly glowing spherical body flying slowly, approximately at an angle of 45 ° to the horizon, leaving behind a very intense, denser smoke trail from the aircraft, resembling an inversion. I say: the remaining trace, because when I noticed the body, it was moving, no longer leaving a trace. The northern part of the sky is brightly illuminated due to the glow of the body itself, the size of which, it seemed to me, is approximately equal to the diameter of a round road sign. The body had a yellow-orange color, and its brightness alternately increased and decreased somewhat, resembling a slow brightness pulsation.
The color of the contrail changed from luminescent to yellow. The trail had a zigzag shape: it began from the horizon and ended with an extension, diverging into two branches. Between the branches, the trail was more blurred and correspondingly less intense.
The body was moving at a variable speed. At one point, it seemed to hang and from three sides of it, except for the side in which the body was moving, the glow increased due to the luminous jets released by the body, resembling rain and spreading out like a fan. At that time, I noticed a flying artificial satellite of the earth and looked at my watch: it was exactly 24 hours 00 minutes.
The luminous body abruptly changed its trajectory, went in a direction perpendicular to the trajectory of the satellite, approximately to the northeast, leaving no trace behind.
But for a long time the trace left by this interesting object was visible.
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks
For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
