Initial data
The ship's doctor V.A. Zakharov writes.
From 17.00 to 20.10 ship time with BMRT "V.Kiselyov" AB 2423 observed an unknown object similar to a cloud.
It was off the east coast of the island of South Georgina (Georgia?).
According to navigator A.A. Shasherin and S.I. Kokorin, an object in the form of a cloud took off from under
water or from the water surface, leaving behind a plume of smoke, and during the ascent resembled a mushroom cloud.
Then the object stopped, forming a gaseous cloud above it. Visually, two clouds of two balls were visible, located on top of each other. The height of the cloud hovering is about 4-5 km above the sea. The distance to the ship is about 20 miles. Form
a dish-shaped object with a diameter of about 300 m.
The weather was clear, windy, and sunset was approaching. The wind is westerly, with gusts. The object hung motionless, and above it were cirrus clouds illuminated by the rays of the setting sun.
We saw the shadow side of the object.
The radar background was not measured, as no one was able to use the KDU-5. According to Captain Degtyarev, there was allegedly an impact on the locators: "They could not determine by the locator." We also could not get in touch by radio with the PMRT "Sivko", which was following us one mile away.
The object was standing in place, changing the angle of inclination to the horizon. Everyone was feeling well. Then the object suddenly disappeared, leaving no trace behind.
