Initial data
October 10, 1952, about 22, Air Force Base, Maine.
An orange disk accompanied by 4 green twinkling green lights, 2 on each side. The object was hovering low over the eastern horizon.
Another base is 20 km away. To the north, they were observed in the Theodolite.
Both measured the altitude and coordinates. The object was located at an altitude of 160 ml and 80 ml from the coast. Calculations have shown that the object has huge dimensions and is moving at high speed.
Hypotheses
The heavenly bodies
The brightest heavenly bodies in the sky are Venus, Jupiter, and sometimes Mars and, of course, the Moon.
Venus is the bright yellow of the evening or morning star, shining in the sky on the background of evening or dawn. Maximum brightness of Venus can reach up to 4.3 m, and she is the third brightness of the sun in earth's sky after the sun and the moon. It so well reflects the light of the Sun that it is relatively easy to see and day, especially if you know the location. It manifests itself in the form of tiny blinking white dots.
Investigation
D. Menzel says it's Jupiter.
