Revelations

Priest Patrick Findlay in the town of Waynesburg (Pennsylvania) during a sermon shocks parishioners, showing the revealed stigmata. After the service, the priest is visited by a white-haired man, Simon gates, who, after a short conversation, strangles Findlay, leaving burns on his neck.

At the crime scene, Mulder discovers that the priest's stigmata were fake, as were the ten previous victims killed in this way. Meanwhile, in Loveland, Ohio, ten-year-old schoolboy Kevin Kryder suddenly starts to bleed from the palms of his hands. From the social worker, the agents learn that Kevin is bleeding not for the first time, and that his father, who called his son God's chosen one, is placed in a psychiatric hospital. The agents visit kryder Sr. in the hospital, where He informs them that Kevin has been hunted by the forces of evil since birth, and this time they will come for him in the guise of a rich and powerful man.

Kevin is kidnapped from the shelter by a strange, bald man. According to the sketch, Kevin's mother recognizes the man as their former gardener – Owen Jarvis, who keeps Kevin in his house and claims that he is the boy's guardian angel. When the agents break into Jarvis ' house, Kevin mysteriously disappears from there, and Jarvis escapes by jumping out the window. Kevin returns home, where he is found by gates, but is saved by Jarvis, sacrificing himself. When trying to perform an autopsy on Jarvis, Scully finds no signs of decomposition in his body, which leads her to think of incorruptible saints. On his neck, she finds the prints of gates-an influential man, the owner of a large business.

The car that Kevin is driving with his mother stalls due to an overheated engine. Gates, who was following close behind, stops and offers to help, but Kevin's mother senses a trick and engages in an unequal battle with him. Kevin distracts gates by appearing in two places at the same time, and leaves with his mother. Due to the injury inflicted by gates, the woman loses consciousness. The car crashes into a ditch, and Kevin's mother is killed on the spot. Scully and Mulder take Kevin to a Motel, but gates kidnaps the boy from the bathroom by heating and opening the thick bars on the window with his hands.

Scully assumes that gates drove Kevin to a garbage processing plant that he owns, while Mulder believes that the killer should go to the airport. The agents split up, and it turns out that Scully was right. Gates tries to commit suicide by throwing himself and Kevin into a shredder at the factory, but the boy manages to get caught on a handrail. Two days later, Kevin leaves for an unknown destination, and Scully goes to confession in Church for the first time in years, wondering if maybe God is talking to people, but no one is listening.
