Biologists from the University of Hawaii conducted an interesting experiment, securing the camera on the backs of humpback whales, the researchers wondered how these mammals behave during the hunt. Besides, experts have determinedthat for these purposes humpback whales use an interesting technique, the so-called "bubble traps".
According to scientists, this method of hunting whales began to use after their number has been greatly reduced due to whaling.
The method consists in the fact that several animals surround the fish, then they are under water, blow bubbles, forming a dense spiral ring. Fish or krill can't get out of this trap, at this point, the whales emerge and the prisoners fall into their open jaws.
Cameras mounted on the backs of whales, showed the moment of the hunt from the point of view of the whale, and the drone filming from above, has given scientists an explanation of how it formed air bubbles, and extensively documented all the clever process of extraction of whales for food.
