After flooding the streets of the Indonesian village of Jengot, the water abruptly turned a rich red color. As it turned out, there is no crime, the reason lies in the local textile factory.
Heavy rains led to the fact that the village in Central Java was flooded. It is worth noting that the residents are already used to this, but not to the red hue of the water.
A small investigation revealed that water had entered a local textile factory and soaked the boxes of coloring materials.
Jengot village is located near the town of Pekalongan, which is famous for its industry of hand-painted fabric. In the region there is not one plant, but at least ten.
Rains in the region pour about a hundred days a year. From time to time, colored areas are formed around factories, the color is green, purple, and others. The new color has shaken even the indigenous population. People are afraid that the photos from the village will be used for self-serving purposes for hoaxes. The fears are understandable: many people have already thought that the water was stained with blood.
Officials noted that the dye will wash away with the rain, no additional measures need be taken. The only thing – from the city arrived sewage disposal machines for collecting water.
Wastewater significantly undermines the environment. To this day, a system for cleaning them has not been installed, although conversations have been going on since 2018.
