In the Australian segment of the Network, a video recording of the "rain of mice", which took place the day before in the farming town of Tullamore in New South Wales, received a great response. The video was published on the social network by ABC correspondent Lucy Thackray.

According to the journalist, the recording captures the moment when a resident of Tullamore, while trying to clean the silo, found that dozens and hundreds of mice were spilling out of the crane. Most of the animals crashed, but some survived the fall from a great height for mice and rushed away from the tower.

Even if the grain is stored in the silo, the mice can get to it. This was confirmed by Tyler Jones, when he began to clean the grain auger and there was a "rain" of mice, - said Takrei.

Back in March, there were reports of an invasion of mice in New South Wales. It is believed that the rodent pests bred because of the rich grain harvest in 2020. They also call another cause of the disaster-the campaign against feral cats the year before last, after which the natural enemies of Australian mice became much less.

Mice, with hordes of which even snakes and birds of prey can not cope, cause damage to crops and property for tens of thousands of dollars. They not only devour crops, but also gnaw on wiring, telephone cables, make their way into shops, homes and hospitals, spoiling food and biting people. And this is not as funny and harmless as it may seem: outbreaks of plague have already been recorded among mice.

As reported by news.com.au, farmers are demanding support from the New South Wales state government in the fight against mice. The delegation of farmers is seeking the allocation of 25 thousand dollars (1.85 million rubles) to the farm for the purchase of large quantities of rat poison.
