Doctors spent a long time trying to figure out what was wrong with the patient, until they realized that both times she had bleeding, she was menstruating. The woman was diagnosed with hemolacria (the release of blood along with tears), caused, in her case, by a rare anomaly — vicar menstruation. This is bleeding, synchronized with the menstrual cycle, from the mucous membranes of the nose, gums, stomach and intestines, mouth, lungs, eyes or other organs. It is reported that the patient did not experience pain when bleeding from the eyes, but was very scared. She was prescribed oral contraceptives. For the next three months, while she was under medical supervision, the bleeding did not recur.
