Hemolacria (lat. haemolacria — - the release of blood along with tears. The color of the released liquid can vary from slightly colored to dark red. It may be accompanied by bleeding from the nose and scalp, headache.
Most often provoked by local factors, such as bacterial conjunctivitis. Also, hemolacria can cause tumors of the lacrimal glands and ducts, injuries, infections and other diseases, as well as the use of certain medical drugs. There is a type of hemolacria in which intraocular hemorrhage occurs. In women of reproductive age, hemolacria can be caused by a hormonal imbalance.
There is also hematidrosis or bloody sweat.
