For outlines of the hills seen quite a common the bright Sun. Before him we see a thin cloud composed of probably hexagonal ice crystals. These crystals gave rise to 22-degree halo of light that surrounds the Sun.

Unusual curved line that crosses the image is a condensation trail. This is the type of cloud created by a passing aircraft. Part of the trace extends beyond the thin clouds, as casts on them the shadow. This creates an unusual three-dimensional effect.

The photo was taken in late January in Patras, in Western Greece.
