Chupacabra. Kyrgyzstan

A real chupacabra has appeared in Sokuluk. Recently, in the Sokuluk district, unknown creatures attacked sheep and sucked their blood. Some residents who lost their sheep suggested that stray dogs could have done it, and the veterinary department believes that the sheep could have been attacked by weasels.

"They bit the jugular vein and sucked the blood"

According to singer Baktiyar Toktorov, on the night of May 12, an unknown creature attacked his sheep:

- At eight in the morning, my wife went to feed the sheep and found out that all 7 sheep were killed. When we examined the carcasses, we saw a trace of two teeth, bit so as to get to the jugular vein and sucked the blood. Perhaps this creature has a powerful jaw, because the meat at the bite site turned into a mess. This is the first time I have encountered such a case.

Were the sheep attacked by dogs?

On May 13, an unknown creature killed 10 sheep out of 19 of singer Muratbek Omurbekov's neighbor. And 9 sheep were also injured. Some sheep have limbs torn off, their bellies ripped open. Muratbek Omurbekov suggested that stray dogs could attack the sheep:

— I don't know how many of the affected sheep will still die. I was saving these sheep in order to marry my sons. They may have been attacked by stray dogs. Because when there was a noise from the gate, we immediately went outside and saw 8 dogs in the yard. There were 2 greyhounds in our house, but they were scared.

"Sheep could be killed by a weasel"

The head of the State Veterinary Department of Sokuluk district Kadyrakun Anvarbekov said the following:

— After seeing the bites left on the sheep's body, we assumed that they could have been attacked by a small predatory animal - a weasel. They have razor-sharp teeth, bite mainly blood vessels. Their victims die from blood loss. The meat of cattle that have fallen in this way is not suitable for consumption. Such cases have been observed in Kyrgyzstan before. In the At-Bashinsky district, in Chuya, lynxes attacked sheep. Fallen cattle need to be buried in a special place. At the moment we are engaged in prevention. Our department shared with aiyl okmotu, with the residents about how to deal with weasel. In the burrows of weasels, you need to dump poison that destroys rats and mice. And the owners of houses should carefully monitor their cattle.

But for some reason it is hard to believe that only twice the size of an ordinary rat weasel can kill sheep. In any case, let's hope that the animal that killed the sheep will be identified.

In 2014, an unknown creature appeared in the Kochkor district, which sucked the blood of chickens and sheep. Some suggested that it was a chupacabra, others believed that it was stray dogs. The Hunting Department conducted an investigation and stated that there was no evidence that the cattle were dying from blood sucking. Accordingly, it was concluded that chickens and sheep were killed by stray dogs.
