Chupacabra. Belarus

A chupacabra has appeared in the Lepel district. Since the war, there has been a joke: "The Germans are in Packs!". Now it has changed — they say: "Chupacabra in Packs!". The newspaper's journalist was sent three pictures by mail about the atrocities of an unknown creature at the flock dacha of the flock residents of Smazhevsky (Lepel district of Belarus).

Gennady and Irina Bykov were the first unlucky ones. In the morning they found 64 strangled rabbits on their stall. Moreover, they were not lying randomly, but neatly stacked in a pile. There were animals there, as they say, both old and young. The cells were dragged through the farmyard. Slate roofs were torn off from some, doors were opened in others. Two two-month-old rabbits were missing. One was later found by a neighbor in his firewood, the second was found in the potatoes themselves in the afternoon. Both are alive. The police, as they said, did not get through, and the district police officer was on vacation.

They grieved over the loss of so many harmless creatures, their own labor and material costs, and buried the corpses. They blamed themselves — the door to the stall was just closed for the night. They knew that thieves did not need a living object of theft — there was a lot of hassle, and the beast would not dare to climb onto the village street. Decided - dogs.

The next morning, a pogrom was staged in the courtyard of the neighbors of the Bykov — Baranovitsky. By the way, they already live on the outskirts of the village — behind a large field, the forest looms like a green strip. In the rabbit barn, the owners found three cage doors knocked out and 12 rabbits strangled. The villain had a chance to tinker with some doors — the boards scratched with claws from below. But in the end, the killer reached for the latch and opened it.

On the 13th, the owner found the killed rabbit half a kilometer away in the vegetable gardens, towards the village, not the forest - strangled, not eaten. Near the pond, I caught a live rabbit with two wounds from fangs on its back. Another female during the attack of the monster escaped to a neighbor Gennady Bykov, whose farm was stormed last night.

The Chupacabra (for now we will call the unknown aggressor so conditionally) penetrated into the barn with rabbits through a tunnel under the wall, which then Yuri Baranovitsky laid with logs. By the way, he could easily jump over a low wall, but for some reason he preferred to dig a hole. The owner buried the corpses of the animals and did not apply anywhere. Said:

—What's the use? This is not a lynx, which was referred to in the Cheryish region — it is far from the forest, and this beast is secretive, afraid of people. And there is no chupacabra - all this is fiction. An ordinary hunting dog makes raids on rabbits, whose duty is to kill animals and put them in place, not eat. Successful hunting of a trained dog, and that's all.

I feel sorry for the rabbits — I put so much work into them. There are two rabbits left, so I'll try to do rabbit breeding again. Until the next attack of the chupacabra, as you call the night robber. And then I'll dust off my hands.

The Smazhevskys have a cottage with a farm located just opposite the village Council, just across a side street. And they live in an apartment in the same place, in Packs. The next morning they came to the dacha and were stunned. 16 rabbits were lying dead in a pile. One had his heart torn out, which was lying next to the vomit — it did not go to the robber. A footprint has been left on a pile of gravel. These photos were sent to me by e-mail.

For some reason, the robber did not climb into the open windows to the Baranovitsky, but did the digging. Maybe there were different animals? And here is the torn metal mesh that separated the little rabbits from their mothers. Its edge is still visible in the picture from the mobile phone, where the dead animal lies and next to it is the heart.

All the victims had two punctures on their backs. And the most mysterious thing lies in the fact that the doors to the chicken coop, where chickens and broilers were kept, were open - come in and if you want - souls, if you want - eat. But the chicken chupacabra did not even covet. And I left one more riddle after myself — I went to the toilet on the deck under the window of the barn. As if she mocked the robbed owners. Apparently, she looked into the hall window - suddenly there was an object of hunting there.

The Smazhevskys did not leave this case like that. Reported to the police. The district police officer brought an engineer for hunting forestry Vadim Shulga. He examined the place of robbery and pronounced a verdict — the dog committed a crime.

The remaining few animals that the Chupacabra did not reach were taken home by the Smazhevskys, and a noose was put on the window of the barn. In the morning there was no loop, as well as traces of blood. So, a robber came, got caught in a noose, tore it off and took it away.

— Wasn't it a pity to bury so much meat? In Chereyshchina, chickens and two 20-kilogram wild boars killed by a chupacabra, or, as the expert said, by trot, were buried, and a half-dead 80-kilogram wild boar was slaughtered and eaten.

"They were already cold," Mikhail replied. - Yes, and meat wouldn't get into your mouth, knowing how it was obtained.

— We have a breed of rabbits "Giant", - adds Lena. — They didn't weigh the biggest one — they pulled two and a half kilograms. Two million damage has been done.

I personally asked the hunting expert Vadim Shulga who he considers a pack robber. The answer was concrete - a dog. But what are the reasons to think so? The tracks on the gravel are dog tracks. Why didn't I eat carcasses, but only killed animals? It was the dog's hunting instinct that manifested itself. I threw up my heart, because dogs don't respect raw meat.

Reasonable. This would have been the end of the journalistic investigation if the villagers themselves had not brought Lena Bykova to me. She told this…

We drove up to her house, but went first to our neighbor Zhenya Bykov (this is a common surname in Packs). He wasn't at home.

Then Lena told that quite recently a night robber was rolling a cage with a rabbit in the yard, but he never got to her, only gnawed his paw. She even showed me that cage. But he did not take pictures of her without the owner's permission. Let's go to Lena.

These Bulls already live on the Lepel outskirts of the Packs, but far from the main street. Behind them, bushes and a field immediately begin. The forest is near the not so distant Lake Svyatoe. A deep pond was dug behind the house. This is a deep pit, and the water is at the very bottom. So, the owner came to the pond to start the crucians for divorce, and saw a path to the water

Then Lena photographed the most distinct print and posted the picture on the Internet with the question: "Whose footprint?". The answer was horrifying. Wolverines! This Siberian animal is aggressive towards humans, kills livestock indiscriminately and abandons them at the scene of the crime. There are examples of attacks on people. It looks intimidating — somewhat similar to a bear.

At home, I immediately went online. Yeah! Wolverine is still a beast! In Siberia, she alone puts whole villages on their ears. He gets into stables and houses, strangles cattle, throws food supplies and inedible items. It looks terrifying. The pattern of the tracks is the same as on the descent to the pond.

I'm not a police investigator. And not a hunting researcher. I'm just conducting a journalistic investigation. And I do not pretend to be an expert hunter, because I have never been one in my life. But I spent the whole day studying the pack situation and came to the conclusion that Lena Bykova is closest to the truth. Wolverine put on the ears of the Pack! Where did the Siberian animal come from in the Lepel open spaces? And where do African ostriches walk from on the Priest's Island and the complex of the roadside service of Yuri Matesha? And Siberia is much closer to us than Africa!

920 people live in Packs of 342 farms. They need to be rescued from the night tyrant, whoever he is: a chupacabra, a dog, a wolverine or a lynx listed in the Red Book of Belarus. In India, man-eating tigers are being destroyed, even though they are protected by law. In addition, it should be taken into account that one and a half kilometers from the Packs is the urban neighborhood of Peschanka. What if the rabbit-killer Chupacabra-dog-lynx-wolverine will be drawn to the city rabbit? What if a man gets in the way of the beast? Surely there are no specialists in the area who could destroy the monster?
