Phantoms hovering along the gloomy corridors and drums slamming doors are a normal phenomenon for the château de Martinvast.

There are two legends about Martinvast Castle.

One is connected with a certain Sophie, who died here in a fire during the Second World War. Since 1944, the ghost of a woman has been hovering around the halls of the chateau at night and cannot find peace. Sometimes she is accompanied by other unknown spirits.

The second legend says that on a foggy night a cyclist leaves the pond with a rich catch. The latter still remains only words and has not found a single confirmation.
