Informé le lendemain, Mufon France (organisation qui enquête sur les cas d’observation d’objets volants non identifiés qui lui sont signalés) a mené sa petite étude sur ce phénomène aérien. Le localisant d’abord grâce au repère visuel du château d’eau de Douchy, et le situant en direction est-sud est.

Le témoin est revenu vers nous dans la soirée du mercredi 19 décembre, pour nous indiquer que, s’il avait bien observé Venus le matin même, le phénomène qu’il avait observé le lundi était différent, semblant avoir traversé la voie express, passant du secteur de la centrale EDF de Bouchain vers Douchy ».
