Luis Renato Matos, a schoolteacher, drove my daughter and her two children from Araraume in Campos.

Near makae, he saw a blue light, which, when seen again about 200 meters ahead, was now a bright blue inverted plate about 20 meters in diameter, floating at an angle of 3-4 meters above the ground.

All its passengers were asleep. As he rounded a bend in the road, Renato saw 5 or 6 small human figures, less than a meter high. They were all moving fast: each carried a pear-shaped illuminated instrument held on a small rod. They glowed like hot iron.

Renato accelerated the car, and just after it passed through makae, but its lights went out and the engine stalled. He sat there for so long, not knowing what to do, until finally he was able to start the car again and continue driving

Renato speeded the car up and just after he passed through Macae his headlights failed and the motor quit. He sat there for a long while not knowing what to do until, finally, he was again able to start the car and proceed
