Initial data
A nine-year-old boy, Mario Mercier, was alone on an ice rink on a Sunny day when he saw a spherical white "cloud" that quickly fell from the sky and stopped at an extension of his home 700 feet (212.8 m) away.
Out of this "cloud" 7 feet (2.1 m) in diameter came 3 stocky, square-shouldered men 4 feet tall in black clothing and black square helmets. One carried a square black "teapot" that he began to fill with snow. Then he went to Mercier's chicken coop and was about to open the door when the boy screamed.
He turned to the boy who was trying to hide in the hockey net. He then returned and, along with one of the others, was seen to "climb" back into the "cloud", which then quickly rose vertically.
Left on the ground in the snow were square footprints seen by other family members, and a 10-inch (25.4 cm) circle of black soot where the grass was burned. It took 2 years before the grass grew again.
