A hunter in Lick County, Mississippi, shot a chupacabra. A resident of Lick County, Mississippi, believes that he shot the legendary creature - the chupacabra - and thereby confirmed that it is quite real, and not a myth, as experts believe.
Hunter Matthew Harrell encountered a strange creature while inspecting a chicken coop.
“Shortly before this incident, my neighbor told me that some creature had killed three of his chickens. Then I decided to check my chicken coop, believing that the birds were strangled by a raccoon. However, when I saw red glowing eyes in the dark, I immediately changed my mind — it was clearly not the beast I expected to see”" 28-year-old Matthew confessed to the correspondent of the ClarionLedger website.
According to Harrell, he had to kill the animal because it was not only not afraid of the presence of a person, but also tried to attack the owner of the chicken coop.
"He didn't just turn in my direction — the beast jumped down like a cat," Matthew recalls. — While I was standing still, this creature was approaching me. I could clearly see his teeth and red eyes. When the beast crouched down before jumping, I didn't give it a chance to attack me — for the sake of saving my life, I had to kill an aggressive animal.”
After shooting the strange creature, the 28-year-old American approached the corpse to examine it.
The hunter saw the body of an animal, practically not covered with hair, with long claws on its paws.
"It was different from all the animals we saw in the area of our county," says Harrell. "My dog was scared even of the dead body of this creature."
Eager to hear other people's opinions, Matthew took his trophy to a neighbor.
“When I saw the corpse of the animal, I called the guy who had lost his chickens, and he said that he had seen him in his shed two or three times. He also noticed that the creature looks quite funny, since its front part is smaller than the back," says Wayne Thompson, a resident of Lick County.
After demonstrating the "bald creature” to the rest of the neighbors, the hunter was convinced that he had shot a real creature - a chupacabra, which allegedly kills animals and then sucks their blood.
However, local officials from the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries identified the corpse as a coyote suffering from scabies.

There are a huge number of different living organisms on our planet. According to recent estimates, the number of species of organisms on our planet is approximately 7-10 million. However, only 15% of the data are described today.
According to the calculations of Canadians, 2.2 million species live in the world's oceans, 6.5 million on land. There are only about 7.8 million species of animals on the planet, 611 thousand fungi, and 300 thousand plants.
Baldness
Often, because of the nature of the species, age or various diseases, the animals are deprived of wool.
The most common skin disease that leads to this effect is considered to be the Itch mite. From coyotes, for example, the response to the disease can be so strong , what causes hair loss, narrowing of the blood vessels, adding to the overall fatigue exhaustion. Therefore, affected animals often attack livestock because it usually is easy prey.
