The alarm began at 15:39. last Wednesday, when dozens of people called 112, reporting "air shocks", the origin of which has not yet been established.
According to sources in the emergency services, at the moment they did not have to intervene and information about the incident is being collected.
"I don't know the origin, but the tremors were quite strong. Not only the windows, floor and walls were shaking, but a sound similar to a distant explosion was heard in the background," the Twitter user said. @meteograncanaria.com .
The National Geographic Institute has registered the shock, but still does not specify its origin. The authorities are trying to find out the reason for the big noise that keeps Gran Canaria in suspense this Wednesday.
Although it is believed that it was a meteorite, it has not yet been proven. They say it was a 3-foot-long object that would have weighed many tons.
Such an object will cause a huge tidal wave when it falls into the sea, and this does not seem to be the case here. So, was it a meteorite or something else that fell into the sea?
