Initial data
A sharp white light was seen over the town of Stolwijk.
An eyewitness reports:
Far away in the sky hung a thick ball of light. After tens of seconds of surprise, my partner and I were able to conclude that this object is actually still hanging in the air. We walked on, and then looked back at the sphere, which was no longer visible.
After a minute of walking, we decided to take another look, there was a sphere hanging there again... motionless. I doubted that these were the landing lights of the plane heading to Rotterdam-The Hague Airport, because the approach route was extremely unusual.
I decided to look at PlaneFinder, but there was absolutely no plane in sight.
Later, the light point disappeared again, and we didn't see it anymore.
It was a very bright point of light, and also quite large.
The most likely explanation according to ufomeldpunt.nl - planet:
It could have been Venus.
Original news
Scherp wit licht
Meest waarschijnlijke verklaring
Planeet
Dat zou Venus geweest kunnen zijn. Die ging 'onder' rond die tijd.
Hypotheses
The heavenly bodies
The brightest heavenly bodies in the sky are Venus, Jupiter, and sometimes Mars and, of course, the Moon.
Venus is the bright yellow of the evening or morning star, shining in the sky on the background of evening or dawn. Maximum brightness of Venus can reach up to 4.3 m, and she is the third brightness of the sun in earth's sky after the sun and the moon. It so well reflects the light of the Sun that it is relatively easy to see and day, especially if you know the location. It manifests itself in the form of tiny blinking white dots.
Investigation
The website states:
On June 4, 2023, Venus will reach its greatest elongation. Simply put, the planet will be as far away from the Sun as possible in the sky, so this is the best time to see Venus. Look for her in the evening, in the direction of sunset. You won't confuse it with another planet or star — these days Venus shines brighter than any of them.
