Initial data
Smirnova O.K. writes to the Commission on the USSR:
On January 28, 1985, from 20 to 21 o'clock, we observed the following from the window of our apartment (4 floors). Something bright appeared in the sky, like a large lantern. At first we thought it was a star, but it was too big and bright for a star. At 21 o'clock this "something" began to move and within 5 minutes at high speed at the same altitude disappeared towards the west.
Until February 21, nothing like this was observed, despite the fact that the sky was clear.
And on February 21 at 21 o'clock we saw this "Star" again, which was a little lower and a little to the side. Hanging in one place, at 21-50 it began to move slowly and disappeared also towards the west.
We saw this "Star" again on February 22 and 24, but already from 21 o'clock to 23 o'clock. but the shape of the "star" was not round, but such that there was a halo of radiance around. Moreover, as the kona moved, it then burned very brightly in different colors, then it became a completely small, almost imperceptible star. it was as if she was turning.
we heard about the article in Trud and decided to report it. By the way, our neighbors came to look at this unusual flying "star".
The "star" appears almost at the same time, but at different heights. always to the right of the moon (or rather, when there is not a full moon in the sky, but a month).
Maybe this phenomenon will be interesting for you.
We are so interested in this mysterious star that we now constantly observe the sky when it is not covered with clouds.
Hypotheses
The heavenly bodies
The brightest heavenly bodies in the sky are Venus, Jupiter, and sometimes Mars and, of course, the Moon.
Venus is the bright yellow of the evening or morning star, shining in the sky on the background of evening or dawn. Maximum brightness of Venus can reach up to 4.3 m, and she is the third brightness of the sun in earth's sky after the sun and the moon. It so well reflects the light of the Sun that it is relatively easy to see and day, especially if you know the location. It manifests itself in the form of tiny blinking white dots.
