Initial data
Alexander Sapozhnikov (8 cl.) writes to the Commission on AYA.:
Today, February 1, 1985, at 18-15, I noticed an unblinking star (at this time and in general today we do not see stars in the sky). She was slowly moving along the horizon towards the city of Polyarny.
I determined that it was about 30 km away, and in 40 minutes while I was watching, the object moved noticeably along the horizon. Looking closer, my sister and I were able to notice the shape of this object. Under this object, a smaller object was flying slightly lower and to the left.
This phenomenon (or object) was observed by several people who paid attention: Elizaveta Dmitrievna Bykova noticed it a week ago, Sasha Sereda also noticed it a week ago, while the object did not move.
Hypotheses
The heavenly bodies
The brightest heavenly bodies in the sky are Venus, Jupiter, and sometimes Mars and, of course, the Moon.
Venus is the bright yellow of the evening or morning star, shining in the sky on the background of evening or dawn. Maximum brightness of Venus can reach up to 4.3 m, and she is the third brightness of the sun in earth's sky after the sun and the moon. It so well reflects the light of the Sun that it is relatively easy to see and day, especially if you know the location. It manifests itself in the form of tiny blinking white dots.
