Initial data
UFO sightings in Lomonosov sometime in 1984 at the end of December-beginning of January.
Information about the observer: Mishchenkova Vera Pavlovna (1946, engineer of NPO "Lennefthim"), lives in Lomonosov on Krasnykh Partizan Street.
The condition during observation is normal. Prior to this, there were no observations, but I am aware of anomalous phenomena.
UFO sightings took place in Lomonosov at about 22 pm in 1984 (the year does not remember exactly) in late December - early January. The weather was calm, the night was starry, there were no clouds. The observer was on Leninsky Prospekt with her mother opposite the entrance of the Central District Hospital. The object was observed visually. The unusual shape of the object attracted attention: it was a very elongated ellipse (airship), the size and shape of the object did not change. The object was spotted in the air. There was nothing in the sky except the object, except the stars.
The dimensions of the object are in diameter like the moon at full moon, the length is 4-5 times larger. The object glowed with a bright orange-reddish light. The object moved slowly and smoothly across the sky approximately from the southeast to the northwest. The observers were facing south, the Gulf of Finland was behind them.
The object appeared from behind the houses and after 3-5 minutes disappeared behind the trees. The height of the object did not change (it is difficult to estimate the height) - above the usually low-flying helicopter, but below the aircraft flying at high altitude.
There were no sound effects. The object was not divided into parts, there were no protrusions or lights. There were no residual effects. They did not experience any influence on themselves, except for surprise at the unusual nature of the object.
Hypotheses
The airship
The aircraft lighter than air, which is a combination of the balloon with the mover (usually a screw with an electric motor or internal combustion engine) and the system of the orientation control (steering control), through which the airship can move in any direction regardless of the direction of air flow.
The shape of the airships are divided into:
Pyrotechnics
This category includes not only pyrotechnic projectiles visible in the sky, but also traces of exploded projectiles, their fragments and other similar activities.
Pyrotechnics is a branch of technology related to the technology of preparing combustible compounds and burning them to obtain a certain signal or effect.
