On the rugged remote coast of the Flannan Islands in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, the story of the mysterious disappearance of the keepers of the Eileen More Lighthouse has been told for many years. This chilling story has been confusing researchers and stimulating the imagination of adventurers for more than a century.
Eileen More, one of the Flannan Islands, is an isolated and abandoned place. The last entry was made on December 13, 1900, just a day after Marshall's story about the storm. It is attributed to Marshall and reads simply:

Countless theories have emerged over the years. Some suggest that the men were swept away by a strange wave, while others play up the idea that they were abducted by foreign spies.
