Initial data
Another equally impressive event took place on January 22, 1995, the day of the elections to the Republican State Council. On this day, an hour before sunrise over the Circumpolar Urals, I had a chance to observe a rainbow aura, it was amazing in beauty and the rarest phenomenon in time that I have ever seen.
The sky over the Urals, which is located from Inta to a straight line in 50 km, is covered with small
sparse clouds, it was completely illuminated from the eastern side by a semi-contour rainbow illumination. Moreover, each cloud had its own individual dawn, which was dominated by a single color. This rainbow glow faded after 5-10 minutes and flared up with renewed vigor, it was already a different predominant color. It was a lively firework of colors: some clouds dimmed, others showed all the colors of the rainbow. Dale, individual areas of the sky without visible clouds were, as if in watercolor, painted in various delicate tones, which also alternately changed their color in the specified time interval.
After a leisurely sunrise, the rainbow aura began to fade, and an hour later it completely disappeared behind the clouds that tightly covered the sky. The observation was carried out from the window of the eighth floor with excellent visibility.
The observation began at 6:30 a.m. local and Moscow time and was completed by 8 a.m.
However, the hypnotized local press this time did not consider it necessary to inform the townspeople who were lying in bed about this unique phenomenon over the bowels of the Circumpolar Urals.
But the magazine "Incredible world" (Orel) in her ninth issue, she was interested in what, perhaps, will one day help someone to uncover the mystery of such auras.
Hypotheses
Halo
Halo usually appears around the Sun or moon, sometimes around other powerful light sources such as street lights. There are many types of halos, but they are mostly caused by ice crystals in Cirrus clouds at a height of 5-10 km in the upper troposphere. The form of the observed halo depends on the shape and arrangement of crystals. Reflected and refracted by the ice crystals, the light often turns into a spectrum, which makes halo look like a rainbow, but a halo in low light has a low chroma, which is associated with the peculiarities of twilight vision.
Радуга и радужные облака
Rainbow - atmospheric optical and meteorological phenomenon that is observed under illumination by a bright source of light (natural Sun or Moon) set of water droplets (rain or fog). Rainbow looks like a multicolored arc or circle composed of the colors of the spectrum of visible radiation (from outer edge: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, Indigo, violet).
Booster, the rocket and tracks
For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
