Initial data
Japanese social networks are discussing a mysterious "fireball" that flew across the sky over the country on Monday morning.
Initially, this phenomenon was recorded by the curator of the Hiratsuka Museum of Local Lore, Daichi Fujii. He shared his observations on social media, posting footage of this amazing phenomenon captured by cameras in his house, as well as a camera in Fuji City. The videos clearly show a huge and bright fireball moving across the sky at great speed.
Astronomers conducted a preliminary analysis and found out that this mysterious car was moving at a speed of 42.4 kilometers per second, and its trajectory ran from Sagami Bay to Nagano Prefecture.
However, the sound that was heard in some areas during the passage of the "fireball" remains no less mysterious. Many witnesses claim that it was a sound strongly reminiscent of an explosion.
Later, recordings appeared from cameras installed in Tokyo and Fukushima, which also recorded the moment of the passage of this mysterious ball.
At the moment, there is an active discussion about what this mysterious object is. Astronomers and experts continue to analyze the data and explore possible explanations.
Original news
On January 15, a green "fireball" was observed in the sky in many places in the Kanto region of Japan. The green "fireball" appeared at about 7:00 a.m. on the same day, and many people witnessed the phenomenon on their way to work, while others claimed to have heard a rumbling explosion. Fujii Ochi, a researcher specializing in astronomy at the Hiratsuka City Museum, speculated that a meteorite might have fallen after a surveillance camera at his home captured footage of the "fireball" streaking across the sky.
Hypotheses
Space debris
By space junk refers to all manmade objects and their fragments in space, which is already faulty, not functioning, and will never be able to serve any useful purpose. Currently in low earth orbits up to altitudes of about 2000 km is, according to various estimates, about 220 thousand (300 thousand according to the UN office for outer space Affairs, October 2009) man-made objects weighing up to 5000 tons.
In the case of UFOs, it is possible to expand this list lost cosmonauts things (tools, etc.).
