Initial data
Rita Sinitsyna writes to the Commission on:
On February 11, 1976, at about 19:00, I left the physics department of LSU together with Gorokhov, and we watched as a luminous object passed through the sky.
Ahead of the object was a red core, the diameter of which was 1/3 of the diameter of the Moon. In front of the core there was a luminous "nose", behind there was a plume, the color of which was not the same. It changed from orange at the top to dark red at the bottom. The object was flying at an altitude of 45 degrees to the horizon. The object did not lower its altitude during the observation. The observation lasted 10 minutes.
Hypotheses
Space debris
By space junk refers to all manmade objects and their fragments in space, which is already faulty, not functioning, and will never be able to serve any useful purpose. Currently in low earth orbits up to altitudes of about 2000 km is, according to various estimates, about 220 thousand (300 thousand according to the UN office for outer space Affairs, October 2009) man-made objects weighing up to 5000 tons.
In the case of UFOs, it is possible to expand this list lost cosmonauts things (tools, etc.).
