Concerning: UFOs in Vyborg

On Monday, October 5, 1998, a resident of the city of Vyborg observed an unidentified flying object for a long time.

As Sergey, a serviceman of one of the Navy units, told the correspondent of the Vyborgsky Vedomosti newspaper, at about 21.30, while on the street near his house, he observed a glowing object in the sky. The observer was in the Vyborg settlement, on the northeastern outskirts of the city, he saw the object to the right of the tower of Vyborg Castle, that is, in the south-southwest of the city. According to Sergey's estimates (they can be trusted, since he has been dealing with flying airplanes and helicopters for a long time), the object was at an altitude of about 4 (+-1)

kilometers, at a distance of at least 5 km.

The size of the object, with a high degree of inaccuracy, is 15-20 meters in length.

At first, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a flash or just some kind of lighting change," says an eyewitness. - Turning around, I saw a bright, "star-like" object with a rounded shape. It is about 1/4 the size of the moon's disk and about the same matte, "neon" color. Two beams of light radiated from it downwards, the angle between them was 45-50 degrees. The rays almost immediately began to "retract", that is, to shorten (not to fade or fade!). Initially, they were about 6-7 times longer than the diameter of the object.

When the rays retracted, the shape of the object changed. He became like "two folded plates", without any protrusions. The outline of the object was black, and the interior was brightly lit, but there was no halo or rays coming from it. About 5 seconds passed, and iridescent iridescences appeared "inside" the object, then it began to fade and at the same time move at high speed towards the horizon, and finally disappeared behind the treetops.

Ten minutes later, the object reappeared, about twice as far and higher, in the other direction, moving at an angle of 90 degrees to the original trajectory. Periodically, it was illuminated, and one ray emanated from it, the same as before. The object disappeared from view, moving towards St. Petersburg.

According to another eyewitness, at about the same time he was returning by car from St. Petersburg to Vyborg. Suddenly, the area around was illuminated with a "neon" light on an area of about three kilometers. The driver did not attach any importance to this, deciding that a helicopter was flying with the injector turned on. However, later he noticed that there was no sound of the engine and the illuminated area was too large.

The headlights and dashboard lights of the car that got into the lighting zone began to go out, and the engine stopped. All the problems went away when the light disappeared from the sky.

The driver, who spent a lot of time behind the wheel, blamed everything on his fatigue. I would like to receive a comment from experts on how characteristic the above phenomenon is, what it can be, etc.
