"Hungry" (English "Hungry") is the third episode of the seventh season of the television series "The X–Files". The episode belongs to the "monster of the week" type and is not related to the main "mythology" of the series.
Not far from a fast food restaurant, a man's corpse is found, whose brain seems to have been "sucked" through a small hole in the skull. Under the suspicion of agents Scully and Mulder, the employee of this restaurant, Rob Roberts, who is a genetic mutant, falls under suspicion. He constantly feels physical hunger, which can only be satisfied by eating the human brain. During the episode, we see Rob's attempts to restrain his hunger, but he is getting stronger. As a result, hunger becomes insurmountable.
When FBI agents break into Rob's home to arrest him, he deliberately rushes at them in his true form. The agents open fire. Dying, Rob says that he can't be anyone but himself.
Phenomena in artwork: The man with the black eyes
A genetic mutant attacks people and devours their brains. He does this because of a feeling of hunger, which at some point increases so much that he ceases to control himself.
The mutant looks like a humanoid with a head devoid of hair and ears, black eyes and sharp teeth arranged in several rows. When attacked, a "proboscis" is thrown out of his mouth, forcefully hitting the victim on the head and piercing the skull.
The monster is intelligent and tries to control its behavior and resist hunger, but mostly unsuccessfully. He hides his unusual appearance with a wig, false teeth and ears, as well as contact lenses.
