Around the Arctic circle, continues the new year's outbreak of polar stratospheric clouds (PSC). New images of the miraculous phenomena were made in Iceland.

"This morning in the North of Iceland, the sky began to play with crazy colors! We've never seen anything like it", — said the photographer Madlen Dilen.

To capture the clouds in all scale, Dilen made 7 photos and combined them into a single panorama.

"It's just fantastic! We couldn't believe my eyes!" — says the photographer.

As a rule, in cold winter nights in the Arctic nacreous clouds appear only in small numbers. But this winter, something amazing happens. The clouds are so colorful and intense that tourists take them for a day Aurora.

Usually in the stratosphere there are no clouds. Only when the temperature drops as low as -85 °C, rare molecules of water can be collected in ice clouds.
