Giant bloody jellyfish washed ashore in Teriberka

On the shore in Teriberka, tourists found a huge blood-colored jellyfish on the sand. They posted the photo on the VKontakte social network. It turned out that the picture shows the Arctic Cyanea, which is rightfully considered the largest jellyfish in the world. Its giant dome can reach a diameter of two meters, and thin translucent tentacles grow up to twenty meters in length.

It is known that there are both yellow and red individuals. The younger the jellyfish, the brighter its color. At the same time, jellyfish are predators. Their giant tentacles form a dense network right under the dome of the jellyfish and secrete the strongest poison, which instantly kills small prey, and paralyzes large animals.

By the way, this jellyfish is a much longer creature than the blue whale, which is the largest animal in the world.
