A rare phenomenon known as the earthen tornado formed over the Hawaiian Kilauea volcano last Thursday. The photographer managed to capture an amazing phenomenon at the time when the giant poured lava flows.
Mick Kalber flew over the volcano in a tourist helicopter and at the huge volume of lava, I decided to go down to Fell a very steep cliff on Vulcan.
"We wanted to go to Pali to see what happens, says Kolber. — When we noticed a funnel or earth tornadoes, and it was delicious".
"We saw that when a lot of lava flows into water, formed by this phenomenon. Lava moves clockwise and sometimes it spins in a funnel — added Kelber. — But we've never seen them above ground."
Kilauea is the most active of the five volcanoes of the state, and he explodes in 1952. Since then, the volcano has erupted 34 times, and his current activity is from January 1983.
