In the Gulf of Finland at the Shepelevsky Lighthouse, ice was noticed, broken from the inside. The photos were published on the morning of January 17 in the telegram channel @johanlive.

"... This time, Strangers have already hatched at the notorious lighthouse. Periodic sounds of cracking ice and sad bubbling of water under it added suspense at dusk," the author said.

The natural phenomenon is associated with a drop in the water level in the bay, Alexander Kolesov, the chief forecaster of St. Petersburg, explained to "Paper".

"The water level dropped, and the ice broke on the [underwater] rocks," he said.
